"Kids Say the Darndest Things"

Take time to watch this charming and very funny video clip from Art Linkletter's well known show (from years ago), "Kids Say the Darndest Things." Children are always so candid and simply innocently honest in their feelings; they are so willing to share what they think. Enjoy!

Brock is 14 / Cole and Prom

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma & Granpa Jones house. This is a fun activity that we all look forward to every year even though we are getting older. I think McKenzie, Cole & Brock now look just for the $$$$ eggs.

HAPPY BITHDAY BROCK!!! Brock turned 14 on April 25th and was ordained a teacher the next day. He has been serving as the deacon quorum's president the past 6 months. There have been as many as 16 deacons in the quorum and Brock has done an awesome job keeping track of all the boys and making sure no one has been left out. He is a great example to all of us and we love him so much!!

Cole attended Viewmont High School's Prom last week. He looked so handsome in his tux! He and about 20 of his buddies and their dates had a great time.

Mung Mung

Hermanas Ochoa, Sanders, and Fatkin

Hey everyone! Well this last week we had some good lessons. We've been teaching these four people from El Salvador all of whom have a baptismal date. They're pretty funny. Sometimes they seem to get it. They always know they need to be praying and reading, but I have to wonder if they are always praying because they're really not progressing. We brought this very recent RM girl whose parents are in our ward to an appointment too, which was really nice, because there was someone else who spoke Spanish who could answer the questions. It's interesting because being the one who really can speak Spanish in our companionship, I am the one doing a lot of talking because I understand the people, and I can answer the questions. So I'm learning Spanish faster than if I were with a native. But, it sure makes me tired. It's nice to have other people talk, that's for sure. We actually have 7 people with baptismal dates, but none of them came to church this Sunday. Great. Okay, well one did, but she's not sure if she's going to get baptized-I think her dad might not be giving her permission. We had zone conference last week and the focus was completely on baptism. This was motivating but also makes me feel like if we don’t make these baptisms work out, then we failed. Ah! We're doing what we can though, so we'll see. It was kind of a long week, because we had a couple of days when everything fell through. Nobody was around Saturday and Sunday because there was this huge Cinco de Mayo street party going on in our area. Hispanics may say they don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but they're lying. They take advantage of anytime when they can throw gigantic parties. Saturday morning was interesting in companionship planning too because S. Lewis basically freaked out about a lesson we were planning, and didn't like any of the ideas we had, but wouldn't come up with anything else. Seemed like the longest hour of my life. Funny, because the day before she said "Sister Sanders, I know you're stressed. How can I help take some of the stress away?" My answer now would be, "stop freaking out!" Man, sometimes it seems like all companions are not created equal. But then things worked out and she apologized that night. There are rough moments, and there are great moments. So goes the mission, yeah? We went and talked to Yesenia, Abel and Eva last week too. We have an appointment with them this week, so we'll give them another try and see if they're ready to progress. I hope so. Yesenia and Abel were the type of couple I could really see going to the temple, and really that's the goal, not just baptism. Huh. What else? I really need to start thinking of actual interesting things to write in these e-mails. Sorry for the repetitiveness! How is everyone doing? I guess you can all tell me next Sunday when we talk! Ah! Love you family, hope everything is going fantastically for everyone!

Name That Beatle.....

Is it John, Paul, George or Ringo? No........it's Cole. Yup, that's him under all that hair. Cole danced in Viewmont High School's Spring Dance Concert in a number called "The British Invasion". It was a riot to see another side to Cole and a bunch of his buddies. He had a great time practicing and performing in this concert. Wish everyone could've been there to see him. Who knew?

Preschool with Braden

Monday, April 27th was Grandparent Day (I say Nannie Day) at Braden's preschool. So, lucky me...I was invited to spend the day with him. It was very fun to be at his school with him and to meet his friends. We planted flower together, played games, used the parachute, sang songs and played in their play area. It was a great, great day! Thanks Braden for inviting me.

My mother told me...

to put this on this site.

This video is one that David remembered from a few years ago and mentioned to me one day. We searched a little high and little low and finally found it, which was well worth the searching. I know that every one of you have already read my post about it already, since you're ardent followers of the minutiae of our lives, but just in case you've forgotten it, here's the gem:

Order now. It's free. You can put it on your credit card.

Jones' Happenings.........

These are a few of the "happenings" around our house the past few weeks!

McKenzie was accepted to nursing school at Weber State University/Utah State extension program. So she'll be moving to Logan in the fall where she'll be for 2 years. We're/she's so excited and relieved. She has worked hard for this and is looking forward to the "college" life.

We celebrated Preston's BIG #44 birthday! Elaine, Mark, Garrett, Chris and I had a fun time at Mikado's.

We went to a baby shower for Melanie given by Rachel. We are so excited for Ryan and Melanie. I'm sure Jordan will be so excited about all the cool stuff he got!

Elaine, Lexi, Megan, Holly, Lisa & Melanie's niece McCartney.

McKenzie, Kallie, & Lauren.

McKenzie & I played on a rec women's basketball team. We took 1st place in the league but lost in the championship of the tournament. We had so much fun! McKenzie was my whole motivation to play one more year but now that she is moving to Logan, I am retiring - BELIEVE it or not!

Brock, Merri & Maddi were in our Stake Musical. They put in a ton of hours practicing and it turned out awesome!! Brock was in "Oliver". Merri & Maddi were in "Joseph and the Amazing Techincolor Coat". They had a lot of fun and were happy with their perfomances. It was a great opportunity to do something that doesn't come along very often. In all, there were songs and scenes performed from nine different muscials. Amazing the talent from our stake in little old Centerville.
